Gordon Hayward Trade

Thunder Acquires Gordon Hayward from Hornets

Hornets Send Hayward to Oklahoma City for Tre Mann and Picks

Deal Reported Close to NBA Trade Deadline

The Oklahoma City Thunder have acquired former All-Star Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for guard Tre Mann, forward Vasilije Micic, forward Davis Bertans, and two future second-round picks, according to league sources.

The trade comes just hours before the NBA's trade deadline and marks a significant move for both teams. Hayward, a four-time All-Star, has struggled with injuries in recent years, but when healthy, he remains a talented scorer and playmaker.

For the Thunder, the acquisition of Hayward gives them a veteran presence and a versatile wing player. Hayward can play both small forward and power forward, giving Oklahoma City more depth in their frontcourt.

The Hornets, on the other hand, receive a young, promising guard in Tre Mann. Mann, a first-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, has shown flashes of potential in his first two seasons.

The trade is a win-win for both teams, as the Hornets get a young player with upside, while the Thunder land a proven veteran who can help them compete in the Western Conference.
