Yvonne Furneaux, a French-born English actress known for her icy beauty and continental air, has passed away at the age of 98. Furneaux, who starred in Federico Fellini's classic film 'La Dolce Vita' and Hammer's 'The Mummy' alongside Peter Cushing, died on July 5 at her home in New Hampshire from complications of a stroke.

"She was a wonderful, wonderful person," said her friend and fellow actress, Anna Massey. "She was so beautiful and so talented, and she had such a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed."

Furneaux was born in Nice, France, in 1926. She began her acting career in the early 1950s, appearing in a number of British films before making her breakthrough in 'La Dolce Vita' in 1960. In the film, she played the role of Maddalena, a beautiful and enigmatic woman who becomes the object of Marcello Mastroianni's affections.

After 'La Dolce Vita,' Furneaux went on to appear in a number of other notable films, including 'The Mummy' (1959), 'The Long Ships' (1964), and 'The Horror of Frankenstein' (1970). She also worked extensively in television, appearing in shows such as 'The Avengers' and 'Upstairs, Downstairs.'

Furneaux's death has been met with sadness by her fans and fellow actors. Tributes have poured in from all over the world, praising her beauty, talent, and grace. She will be remembered as one of the most iconic actresses of her generation.
